New Courses!
This is the time of year when local colleges, community colleges, and BOCES send out their list of winter enrichment classes. Recently I received one from my local BOCES, and as usual, the choices were interesting, plentiful, and diverse. Here’s a sampling of what is available:
That’s not all - in the area of Career and Technical Education (CTE) they are offering about a dozen courses, from Basic Electrical Theory to a Certified Security Guard Pre-Assignment course. Most of these courses are a basic introduction to your field of interest, some offering certification upon completion. There is also offer a complete series of Commercial Driver Training courses available, with training in a specific industry available if required.Long Term Care
Another program that BOCES provides is the GED or High School Equivalency Diploma. This is an invaluable service for anyone seeking to finish his or her education. There are several study options available that make it easy and available to everyone.
This is a good example of some of the opportunities for Adult Continuing Education. Check with your local college, BOCES, or even your Chamber of Commerce to see who is offering enrichment or Continuing Education Classes. You may be pleasantly surprised! Taking a course or two may be just the way to start your New Year off.
