» k9Princess - Bad grades won't go away..........
I am attempting to re-enter college 18 years after I initially went. While I was technically enrolled in college right after high school, I was more interested in the social scene then the academics. I went from a Private, Catholic, All-Girls Boarding School to a co-ed College with 30,000 + students and boys living in my dorms. Needless to say, I'm finding that since I failed to formally 'drop' my classes (fear of my dysfunctional divorcing family finding out), I am pretty much 'stuck' with two semesters of D's and F's. I was a 3.0 student at my College Prep High School and just wasn't prepared to deal with the responsibilities of College. I'm having difficulty finding out ways to get 'academic forgiveness' or 'retroactive withdrawal'. Everyone I talk to seems to tell me, 'too bad', it's in your record. I can try to reapply to my former University and re-take some classes, but the University I went to is now 80+ miles from my house. I went on to be a successful stockbroker and thanks to flunking out, met my wonderful husband of 11+ years and have a beautiful 3 year old boy. But I want to go back an get my BA. Looks like I will be paying for my adolescence for a long time.-- posted by k9Princess
